The Period-Luminosity Relation of Cepheids
Project Aims
Work in progress
-
to determine the B- and V-band light curves of a set of Classical Cepheid
variables using CCD observations from both Durham telescopes and the La Palma
pt5m
-
to combine these results with GAIA DR2 parallaxes in order to construct
a new independent calibration of the Classical Cepheid Period-Luminosity relation
-
to compare and contrast the derived PL relation with literature determinations and
discuss the wider implications
